What if sleeping beauty became a knight instead?
A mini project I’ve been thinking about for awhile. You can find a backstory comic [here].the graphic alone is pretty arresting!
Yaaaaaay ~
1. I love music in many ways, which is why i learned how to play the violin and the recorder.
2. I’m never satisfied with my hair. I always want it to be longer/shorter, pinker, prettier, straighter/curlier…
3. I’ve had some unusual pets, as a chicken, a sheep and a spider that lived on my parent’s bedroom. (they never knew about spidey, though. I was afraid they would kill her)
4. I watch 7 different TV shows, and all of them are in hiatus.
5. I want to get married some day.
6. I’m not a cat person, nor a dog person. I’m a pet person. I love each and every pet that crosses my path.
7. I like volunteering, and I fear becoming a workaholic like my mom.
8. I secretly want to be a singer. (not a secret anymore)
9. I love the English language more than I like my mother language.
10. I love romcoms and chick flicks, and oftenly cry when watching them.
I would love to help you by spreading the message of your peoples cause but could you explain to me what this revolution is about and what lead up to it?
Sure, I’ll do my best! And I’ll appreciate your help if you decide to join our cause! I gotta warn you though, this answer might be long.
You see, corruption seems part of the history in my country by now and the saddest part is that people were so used to it they began to ignore it, pretend it wasn’t there at all and had never been, it seemed like it was a lost cause so why fighting? Well, that concept…brazilians are starting to change that. Right now as I type this there are more than a million people making protests all over my country, but your question really is: why?
The Confederations Cup just started here, I’m not sure if you know, next year we’ll be hosting the World Cup and then on 2016 the Olympic Games. Exciting, hum? Well, it was until they began building the stadiums. Don’t get me wrong, they look amazingly beautiful, thing is the final budget for them turned out to be twice or even three times what it had been calculated at first, and people started to see there was something wrong about that. We’ve just built one of the most expensive (if not the most) stadiums in history, and yet, there is no money for education and health? Still, people were just talking and as usual complaining without making a move. That was until the government decided to increase in 20 cents the value we’ve got to pay to use “public transport”. They’ve done it because apparently way too much money was spent in everything that had to be built for the upcoming sporting events…
This isn’t a fight for 20 cents though, that was just on more drop in the ocean, nevertheless that drop made everything else overflow. This is a country waking up after years and finally starting to go after their rights, these are people going out in the street claiming for something they should have but don’t, basic needs that seem to always come in second place! This si a fight against hunger and poverty, more than anything, against corruption. We are finally showing Brazil is more than samba and soccer. This video explains it better, the whole cause and everything, it’d be hard to answer it all here!
For all of these, we’re asking for help, if the world can see this it might actually put some pression over our politicians shoulders, maybe they’ll do something this time! Some people might only see it as a tag on twitter, or a post on facebook, but through those we’ve organized the whole protests and I believe that even if through internet a movement is still a movement! I don’t know if I was clear enough but I really hope I was, and if you choose to help, thank you in advance!
